It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

Synopsis

Moon Gang Tae works in a psychiatric ward, where he supports patients and handles crises with calm skill and deep empathy. His life is defined by responsibility and emotional restraint. Ko Moon Young is a famous writer of children's books whose success contrasts sharply with her cold and abrasive behavior, shaped by antisocial personality disorder.

Their paths cross when Moon Young’s actions pull Gang Tae into her world. As they continue to meet, both confront long buried wounds and patterns they have tried to ignore. Gang Tae questions his habit of shutting out love, while Moon Young faces feelings she has never understood.

Through their growing connection, they begin a slow process of healing, discovering identity, vulnerability, and affection that neither believed possible.

My Notes / Opinions

A visual and emotional journey. Character-driven and heavy with trauma and healing themes rather than light fluff. The lead pair’s chemistry is strong, and the female lead is unforgettable. It’s strange and sometimes drawn out, but one of the most distinctive romance-dramas I’ve watched. This was my gateway into the world of K-Dramas (or dramas in general).
