Synopsis

Park Saeroyi’s life collapses after he refuses to apologize for stopping a bully at his new school. The bully’s father, a powerful CEO in the restaurant industry, pushes for his expulsion and fires Saeroyi’s father from his job. Soon after, Saeroyi loses his father in a fatal accident caused by the same classmate. Overwhelmed with anger, he attacks the culprit and ends up serving time in prison.

After his release, Saeroyi decides to challenge the company that destroyed his family. He opens a small restaurant in Itaewon and aims to build it into a successful business through persistence and teamwork. Jo Yi Seo, a sharp and influential young woman active on social media, joins him as a manager and helps guide the restaurant forward.

Together with their staff, they chase growth while confronting the powerful forces that stand in their way. Saeroyi’s fight for justice, ambition, and a new life shapes the journey that unfolds in the heart of Itaewon.

My Notes / Opinions

I was a complete hater of the official couple. I was 100% on the 2FLs side (same actress from Suspicious Partner, and honestly I had a small crush on her). In my opinion, she and the ML had better chemistry and a more natural connection. But she was stringing him along (iirc), waiting for him to be successful before wanting something real (iirc), and when she finally came around it was too late (iirc). I wanted them to be the endgame so badly, and that definitely shaped how I viewed the romance in this drama.
