My Notes / Opinions
This season really shines in how mature and grounded everything feels. The friendships are the core of the show, and the romance grows naturally out of that rather than overt drama. Nothing feels rushed, forced, or over the top, which makes the emotional moments hit harder when they land.
Because the show follows an ensemble of five main characters plus active secondary couples, it doesn’t fit neatly into a standard romance structure. There isn’t a single dominant main couple carrying the story. Instead, multiple relationships slowly come into focus, especially toward the end of the season.
Season 1 leans lighter on romance overall, but episode 12 delivers emotionally and clearly signals that romance will play a bigger role going forward. I liked this season a lot, even if it didn’t hit me quite as hard as Resident Playbook. I’m very excited to see how season 2 develops the romantic arcs further.
