Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha

Synopsis

After a clash with her boss, dentist Yoon Hye Jin leaves the city and returns to a quiet seaside village she visited as a child. When she discovers the town has no dental clinic, she decides to settle there and open one herself. Her polished, city-first outlook quickly clashes with village life, and she struggles to adjust to the community’s close-knit ways.

Her path crosses with Hong Do Sik, known by everyone as Chief Hong. Though officially unemployed, he is skilled in many trades and steps in to help anyone who needs him. His easygoing nature contrasts with Hye Jin’s guarded personality, leading to frequent misunderstandings.

As they learn to rely on each other, Hye Jin and Do Sik begin to form a bond that slowly reshapes both their lives. Their connection grows against the backdrop of daily village routines, personal healing, and the warmth of the coastal community.

The second male lead has feelings for the FL and creates mild tension early on, but there’s no real competition. He steps back quickly and doesn’t interfere with the main couple.

My Notes / Opinions

A warm, low-conflict small-town romance with a soft slow-burn build. The leads have natural chemistry, the emotional moments land well, and the supporting cast fills out the world. Some side plots run long, but the central couple stays steady and satisfying throughout.
