Spring Fever

Synopsis

Yun Bom leaves Seoul after a painful chapter in her life and transfers to a high school in the quiet town of Sinsu. Once known as a warm and popular teacher, she arrives guarded and distant, determined to keep her emotions in check while starting over.

In Sinsu, she meets Seon Jae Gyu, a man whose bold behavior often stirs up the village. He is the uncle of one of her students. His large build and rough image give the wrong impression, but beneath that exterior he is sincere, attentive, and direct about his feelings.

As Bom adjusts to life in the countryside, Jae Gyu approaches her without hesitation. His honesty and steady devotion begin to soften her guarded heart. Through their growing connection, Bom slowly confronts her past and learns that a new beginning may also mean allowing herself to love again.

My Notes / Opinions

This one surprised me. It starts off fun with slightly over the top acting that actually fits the tone. The FL stands out immediately, and her past makes it easy to root for her. Early episodes are solid and better than expected.

Mid series, the repeated misunderstandings get annoying and start dragging the momentum. It feels like the same communication issues get recycled over and over again.

But once the couple is officially together, the show really finds its groove. Episode 9 is especially strong, with public outing and genuinely passionate, intimate energy that actually feels earned. From there, the romance feels natural and drama free.

Overall, it’s not a top tier drama, but it was a genuinely enjoyable watch. It felt refreshing, especially compared to the more frustrating recent romance dramas I watched (Last Summer and My Roommate is a Gumiho).
