What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim

Synopsis

Lee Young Joon is the confident vice president of his family’s company. He is wealthy, capable, and aware of it, often focusing so much on himself that he overlooks the people around him. For nine years, his secretary Kim Mi So has managed his schedule and supported his work with patience and skill. Their relationship has always stayed strictly professional.

Mi So, wanting to reclaim her personal life and pursue her own goals, decides it is time to resign. Her announcement unsettles Young Joon, who suddenly realizes how deeply he depends on her. As he tries to persuade her to stay, the two begin to confront long-held assumptions, past wounds, and unexpected feelings.

What begins as a boss and secretary dynamic shifts as Young Joon and Mi So explore the possibility of a relationship built on more than work.

The triangle lasts for maybe half an episode and resolves immediately. No real competition for the ML/FL pairing.

My Notes / Opinions

Pure rom-com comfort viewing with extremely high chemistry and constant couple focus. Simple story, light conflict, and very character-driven. The romance is fun, addictive, and carries the entire drama. Peaks early. One of my top comfort rom-coms of all time. The chemistry is insanely strong, with cute and intimate scenes that hit every time. I don’t care much for the side couples because the ML/FL relationship is the heart of the show. The comedy is genuinely funny, timing is great, and the romance execution is consistently perfect. An absolutely outstanding romance drama with a perfect ending. Overall one of the most satisfying romance-first K-dramas I’ve seen. This one is tied with ‘The Smile Has Left Your Eyes’ as my all-time favorite drama.
