My Notes / Opinions
One of the few thrillers where the romance actually matters and feels real.
Baek Hee Sung appears to live a peaceful life as a caring husband and a devoted father. He runs a steady career and keeps a stable home with his wife, Cha Ji Won, who works as a homicide detective. To those around them, their family looks ordinary and happy.
In reality, Hee Sung hides a past tied to another identity and a series of violent events from many years ago. He has concealed the truth from Ji Won since the beginning of their marriage. His calm exterior starts to crack when she begins investigating a set of old serial murder cases that connect back to his hidden history.
As Ji Won follows the trail, she starts noticing shifts in her husband’s behavior and becomes unsure of who he really is. Her search forces her to confront the possibility that the man she trusts may be linked to crimes she is now trying to solve. Their once solid family life turns into a tense battle between truth, deception, and the fear of what she may uncover.
