My Notes / Opinions
The early stretch is the strongest, with excellent chemistry and a grounded, mature tone. The main issue is pacing. The FL disappears for a full year after using a fake identity, and the drama drags out the reunion and basic communication far longer than it should. It takes most of the series before the leads actually talk honestly, which becomes frustrating rather than emotionally effective.
When the romance works, it really works. The supporting friendships are solid. The final episode feels disconnected enough that Episode 16 functions better as the emotional ending.
Overall, this works best if you’re patient with slow burn angst and extended miscommunication. If not, the middle stretch is likely to feel like a slog despite the strong chemistry.
