100 Days My Prince

Synopsis

Yi Yul, the Crown Prince of Joseon, is known for his strict and distant nature, hiding a deep sense of loneliness. After an attack on his life, he is badly injured and disappears from the palace. He survives with temporary amnesia and is taken in by Hong Sim’s family, unaware of his royal identity.

Hong Sim is sharp, resourceful, and determined to support herself and her father. She also runs a small detective agency, making her well known in the village. Due to a law Yi Yul once passed that requires unmarried adults to wed, Hong Sim becomes the oldest single woman in her area and is pressured to marry.

With no memory of who he is, Yi Yul lives as a commoner and eventually proposes that he and Hong Sim marry to solve both their problems. As they build an unexpected life together, their connection grows. Yet the truth of Yi Yul’s past and his return to the palace looms over them, threatening the fragile romance that has begun to form.

The triangle appears mainly through the 2MLs internal feelings, not active pursuit.

My Notes / Opinions

A light, sweet romance with great banter and a very likable community of side characters. The story itself is familiar and uses many classic tropes, but the couple’s dynamic carries the show. The 2ML adds mild second-lead energy, but the main romance is never in danger.
